In my house The Sims is the game to play. We all spend hours creating the perfect Sim, trying to make them look like each other and even building a house to look like ours. On more than one occasion I’ve been asked to do someone’s hair just like a Sim character! Since #TheSims4 has smarter Sims with even weirder stories, we HAD to have it!

You will be playing The Sims™ 4 on your Mac in no time at all! One thing that might you hang you up is ejecting a cd when you’re in Windows mode. Here’s how you do it. I can’t believe all this new awesomeness is in The Sims™ 4! Sims with Big Personality – In The Sims™ 4, there are brand new Sims. The Sims 4, both in CD and digital edition, is compatible for Windows and MacOS, just as The Sims 3. I’m running the game on a MacBook Air just fine. The easiest way is to install Origin on your Mac and download the game from there. If in doubt just check the game specs but.

Be sure to enter the SIMify yourself Facebook Contest here. There are $8000 in prizes to be won including the grand prize where you could win a trip to Maxis studio in California! See the official rules here.

Maxis has officially announced that they will be ending support for Non-Metal Mac OS and 32-bit operating systems in November with The Sims 4 Discover University. This means if you do not have a supported computer, you will not be able to download and play with any new content, including Discover University. M1 MacBook Air Sims 4 Compatibility? Not sure if anyone here has tried it, but the M1 Chip for the new MacBook boasts some crazy specs. Apparently its unspecified graphics card has outperformed the GTX 1050 ti. Wondering if it’s good enough for MacBook Air to run TS4 decently well (with almost all the packs but little to no CC).

In celebration of The Sims™ 4 Launch we even made these Plumbob S’mores:

Since we play a lot of video games, but since two of our computers are Macs, we figured out how to play PC games on a Mac, too!

The first thing you need to do is to Bootcamp your Mac. This isn’t some silly workaround. Apple actually has instructions for how to bootcamp your Mac on their website and the software is already installed on your computer. So you don’t need to worry about security and all that.

We bought a copy of The Sims™ 4 at Wal-Mart in their PC gaming section.

We were so excited to install, I barely even got a picture of it before it got ripped away from me! HAH!

Once you’ve set up you Mac to to boot in Windows mode, just hold down control and start your computer! Click the drive you named “Windows” and your Mac will boot up in Windows mode so you can play The Sims™ 4!

Install the game according to the instructions on the insert inside the game.

Insert the disc into your cd drive, and this will pop up:

You will be playing The Sims™ 4 on your Mac in no time at all!

One thing that might you hang you up is ejecting a cd when you’re in Windows mode. Here’s how you do it.

The Sims 4 is the latest entry in the legendary Sims series and features tons of new systems that make it the more sophisticated and enthralling Sims game to date.

The Sims 4 on Mac

The Sims 4 hasn’t always delivered great Mac support. For a while, it was no longer playable due to a lack of 64-bit support. But ever since, developer Maxis has stepped up its game and ensure The Sims 4 on Mac is just as good as on Windows.

Is The Sims 4 worth it? The reviews

So did The Sims 4 delivered? Is it as good as its predecessors? The game didn’t receive exceptional reviews at launch. Most agreed The Sims 3 had more to do and they punished The Sims 4 for it.

Yet The Sims 4 has always had more depth. And since its initial release, the game has received plenty of updates and DLCs.

Bottom line: In spite of average reviews, The Sims 4 is the best Sims game you can buy today, by far.

The Sims 4 M1 Mac benchmarks

The table summarizes our results as well as results from other members of the community:

As a reminder, this is how we describe the different levels of performance:

  • Below 20 FPS: Unplayable: Laggy gameplay, full of stutters and slowdowns.
  • 20-30 FPS: Borderline: Can be OK in slow-paced games. Still, not optimal.
  • 30-45 FPS: Playable: Acceptable for most (most gaming consoles do this).
  • 45-60 FPS: Smooth: Fluid gameplay, with no perceivable stutters.
  • 60+ FPS: Very Smooth: For hardcore and professional players, a luxury for most.

We usually aim for 30 FPS, because 30 FPS is enough to guarantee a smooth and fluid experience for most casual gamers.
